The UMM women's soccer team, bounced back from a loss against Husson University to hand Paul Smith's College their first loss of the season. Paul Smith's women came into the game on Sunday with a 3-0 record, but that did not deter our Lady Clippers! The team was in good spirits, communicated well, and made good connecting passes which got the team off to a solid start with Morgan Doughty (assisted by Amber Chasse) scoring in the 14th minute. Morgan scored again in the 31st minute off a pass from Ashlyn Wing and then Ashlyn took the clippers to a 3-0 lead in the second half when she scored off a pass from Amber. Goalkeeper Malyssa Kubik had her second shutout of the season racking up 15 saves, including one that was placed in the top left corner of the goal, during the game. The defensive line, anchored by Dawn Johnson, contributed to the win by thorting several of Paul Smith's attacking runs leaving the Bobcat's frustrated and without a lot of offensive options. The Lady Clippers take on UMPI, at home on Wednesday, September 11th, at 4PM...we hope to see you there!
