UMM volleyball team traveled to Unity College on Wednesday Oct. 5th. It took the Clippers 5 games to beat Unity in both of the previous matches. This time it only took the team 4 sets to bring home the victory. The Clippers started out strong and took the first set 25-16. The Rams took the second set 25-18, UMM came back in the third set and won 25-17, and took the fourth set 25-22. Heather Leonard had a good match with 10 kills, 6 service aces, 9 digs and 3 blocks.
In a pair of weekend games the Clippers again came home with wins. The first match of the day featured UMM against Lyndon State College of Vermont. The Clippers took the match in three straight games, 25-22,25-13 and came back after getting behind in the third set, to win 26-24.
In the final match of the weekend UMM played the host school Johnson State and beat them in three straight sets as well. Johnson played well the first set only losing by 5, 25-20. The second set of the match UMM dominated the game and won 25-8. The third and final set of the match UMM won 25-14.
UMM improves their record to 12-6 overall and 6-2 in conference. Their next match is the conference tournament in Nashua, NH Oct. 15th.
