Austin Seavey  Signs Letter of Intent

Austin Seavey officially signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Maine at Machias Wednesday afternoon.  The 6’7 forward is a product of Washington Academy in East Machias, Maine.  Seavey averaged 19.3 points and 11.7 rebounds a game during his senior season with Washington Academy.  Seavey was recognized as a 2015 Maine McDonalds All-Star, a 2014-2015 Second Team PVC All-Star and 2014-2015 PVC All Defensive Team Player.  Seavey was also recognized by Washington Academy as the 2015 Career Achievement Award and the 2013-2014 Top Defensive Player Award.  Seavey accumulated 903 points, 506 rebounds and 101 blocks during his career.    

 

Coach Brady is excited to add Seavey to the roster saying, “Austin has a tremendous upside to him.  He has a basketball body that will get stronger during his time in college.  Austin has the ability to play in the paint as well as on the perimeter which will fit well into our system.  Coach Pineo has praised Austin for being coachable so I am really looking forward to getting to work with him. I believe he can be an impact right away for us.”
