Machias, ME- The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball team defeated Eastern Maine Wednesday night in a Yankee Conference game 96-78. After being down 33-31 at the half the Clippers were very effecient in the second half converting on 77% of shots from the field.
Coach Brac Brady commented, "The second half was encouraging to see us share the ball, play with energy and make shots. We wre able to take advantage of our size early in the second half which opened up the perimeter shots. We still need to do a better job defending and rebounding. The team will be fun to watch as we learn how to play a full game with energy and focus."
The Clippers were led by Ivory Sneed with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Ben Teer scored 17 and Tyler Rubin 13 including 3-3 from the three point line. Eastern Maine saw three players score double figures led by Keyshawn Hampton 26. Keyon Keys scored 19 and Everett Fields 18.
The Clippers play again on Saturday, November 22nd when they travel to Fort Kent for a non conference game. Tip in Fort Kent will be at 2 pm.
