Clippers Defense Too Much For Seawolves

Machias, ME - The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball team defeated the University of New Brunswick Saint John in their home opener at the Reynolds Center Friday night 91-59.  The Clippers defense was too much for the Seawolves to over come as they held them to 28% from the field.  Machias Coach Brac Brady commented, "I was very happy with our effort and togetherness tonight.  The team pulled for each other, picked each other up and made the extra pass.  Our defensive effort right from the tip was where I wanted it.  I'm really looking forward to seeing just how good this team can be as there is a lot of potential."

Floyd Higgins led the Clippers with 21 points and 5 rebounds.  Ivory Sneed had 13 points and 5 rebounds including a thunderous dunk on the fast break in the second half.  Antwan Ruise scored 10 points and 5 rebounds.  The Clipper guards set the tone defensively and distributed the ball well getting everyone involved.

The Seawolves had one player reach double figures as Marcel Boudreau scored 13.

The Clippers return to action Tuesday, October 28th with another home game against St. Thomas University.  Tip for the game is 6 pm.
