Machias, ME- The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball team lost a tough game to Fisher College 84-78 Saturday afternoon in the Reynolds Center. The non-conference loss drops the Clippers to 8-6 overall and remain 5-3 in the Yankee Small College Conference standings.
The game saw balanced scoring from both teams as ten total players scored double figures. The Falcons were led by Tyler Shular 19 points, Earnest McNeil 14, Chris Green 11, Ira Haywood 11 and Orlando Zayas 10. The Clipperswere led by 19 points from Elias Gutierrez, Aaron Van Buren 17, Floyd Higgins 14, Erick Andrews 12 and AC Ford 10. Ford also dished out 10 assists for the game.
Clipper Coach Brac Brady commented, "Fisher played really well today and deserved the win. I was real proud of the effort our guys put forth, especially down the stretch with the come back late. We just didn't make enough plays to get over the hump and get a lead."
The Clippers return to action Wednesday, January 15th when they face Unity College at Unity.
