Machias, ME- The University of Maine at Machias men's basketball team came out on top Saturday afternoon in a Yankee Conference game against Vermont Tech by a score of 85-75. The Clippers needed the full 40 minutes to overtake the Knights as they trailed for most of the first 30 minutes of the game.
Coach Brady was please with the victory, "I thought Vermont Tech did a good job of mixing up their defenses to throw us out of our rhythm, but our players adjusted well as the 2nd half progressed. I was also pleased that we were able to create some turnovers when we needed them to spark our run."
The Clippers also had a balanced scoring attack led by Floyd Higgins and Will Lewis with 16 each. Zach Armstrong netted 12, David Mendez 11 and Ivory Sneed 10. Higgins also pulled down 15 rebounds and Lewis tallied 7 assists.
Vermont Tech was led by Kevin Carr with 28 points.
